What is lip blushing tattoos?

Lip blushing is a semi-permanent tattoo that can enhance the color and shape of your lips and give the impression of more fullness. This is done by depositing color ink into your lips and along your lip line to improve the overall look. The color is subtle to give natural-looking results.

Using a tattoo machine, and needles appropriate for the style, the artist, Lindsay, will properly implant colour and shading. Although we are using a real tattoo machine, we are using PMU ink- a specially formulated ink made with smaller molecules to allow fading. This is to allow a client to keep up to what’s “in style”, to also keep up to date with what “matches” their looks (skin colour, hair colour, etc), and the unfortunate event that the client doesn’t like the results.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Like microneedling, lip blushing tattoos require you to take certain medical precautions beforehand. You should not undergo this procedure if you're currently on a blood-thinning medication or are suffering from chronic cold sores or lip dryness.

They last one to five years. The lip is a popular choice for tattoos, but it's not as permanent as other parts of your skin. While tattoos are typically considered to last forever, lip tattoos tend to last only one to five years. This is due to the rapid turnover of cells in the lip area, which sheds the ink quickly.

What not to do after lip tattoo?

Avoid: Sun, sweat, steam, and swimming for 48 hours, ideally 7 days. Avoid:Kissing, eating spicy foods, drinking hot drinks or applying ice directly to your lips.

Lips generally need 2 sessions to go over any spottiness. With most procedures, the color looks dramatically lighter after the first week. Some clients prefer this, while others opt for a bolder look. At the second session, we will assess the color retention and make adjustments as necessary.
